Visa Information

The following information about visas is derived from Russian embassy web sites, but should not be considered as definitive. This is a summary only, and Russian regulations in regard to visa requirements are subject to change without prior notice. Business Visa:

  1. A completed visa application form;
  2. A valid passport;
  3. One passport size photo;
  4. An official letter of invitation from:
    • the Russian Ministry of the Interior, or its local offices;
    • the Russian Foreign Ministry or its regional representatives; or
    • any other authorized Russian agency.
  5. A cover letter from your company (or yourself if traveling individually);
  6. If applying by mail, a self-addressed stamped return envelope or prepaid waybill;
  7. Payment by money order or cashier's cheque;
  8. Processing time, requirements and fees are subject to change without notice.

Tourist Visa (for not longer than one month):

  1. A completed visa application form;
  2. A valid passport;
  3. One passport size photo;
  4. A standard tourist confirmation:
    • From a hosting authorized Russian travel agency, or
    • A hotel, registered with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, &
    • A voucher from your hotel or travel agency in Russia
  5. A cover letter from your travel agency in your country;
  6. If applying by mail, a self-addressed stamped return envelope or prepaid waybill;
  7. Payment by money order or cashier's cheque;
  8. Processing time, requirements and fees are subject to change without notice.

Homestay Visa (not to exceed 90 days):

  1. A completed visa application form;
  2. A valid passport;
  3. One passport size photo;
  4. Original official invitation issued by a local police office in Russia;
  5. If applying by mail, a self-addressed stamped return envelope or prepaid waybill;
  6. Payment by money order or cashier's cheque;
  7. Processing time, requirements and fees are subject to change without notice.
